Classroom Management Plan

I believe that children learn as they seek meaning. Children are exposed to many
different experiences daily and when they find something new, they want to know
more about it. Children then begin to ask questions and form opinions related to
their new discovery. As a teacher, it is my responsibility to help guide these children
in their new discoveries and encourage them to keep learning, to always find out
more. I believe that children learn through interaction with others. During this
experience, children may learn new information or different methods from
interacting with a peer who has a different perspective. As a teacher, I will
encourage interaction among peers to enhance students learning. I will also be a
positive role model for my students to ensure my students are surrounded in a
positive learning environment. My beliefs coincide with those of Bruner and
Vygotsky.
I will use my classroom to enhance
classroom set up appropriately for my
being successful. I will utilize my space
environment that will also stimulate
learning and create a positive climate.

the learning of my students. Having my

type of teaching is a major component of
to give the students a comfortable learning
their minds. I will continuously promote

I will establish rules that are simple yet specific for my students to follow. By having
these rules and following through with them, my students will have a safe and
effective classroom experience. Its also important to have routines so that students
have a structured day with minimal downtime or confusion. Rules and routines are a
key component to a well-run classroom. I will include my students in establishing
and creating rules so that they can take ownership of their contribution to our
classroom.
Problem solving is another key component to success. In order to get the best
results, I will discuss the problem with my students and have them be involved in
discussing possible solutions. The following steps will be used:
1. Teaching students different methods of problem solving. Apology of Action will be
implemented in the classroom to promote self-corrected behaviors.
2. Discuss with the class as a whole if there is a problem that pertains to everyone.
If for an individual, I will pull the student aside and discuss with them what has been
going on.
3. Collaborate with the student about possible solutions to the problem.
4. Continuous monitoring and reinforcement will be demonstrated to ensure the
student stays on track.
Some possible discipline strategies would be loss of recess time or loss of privileges.
I will personally speak with all students who are misbehaving to ensure they

understand why and to help them see how this misbehavior effects not only them
and their learning, but the class as well. Together, we will solve the problem.
I will make sure to follow all the building and district policy rules and not to violate
them.
Parent involvement is important to ensure the child gets the best possible support.
Its crucial that the parent and the teacher are on the same page and are both
attending to the childs needs. I will include and inform parents about success,
issues, and discuss possible resolutions for misbehavior. I will also communicate
with parents throughout the school year to make sure we keep up-to-date on the
students academics.
