Q1: Histological features of testes:
TESTES:
1. The testes are considered to be compound tubular glands of
the cytogenic variety
2. Each testis is covered by thick capsule of dense irregular
connective tissue called tunica albuginea. Beneath the
tunica albuginea there is a layer of loose connective tissue
containing network of blood vessels known as tunica
vasculosa which lines septula testis
3. Posteriorly the tunica albuginea is thickened and projects
into the gland as mediastinum testis.
4. Thin and incomplete connective tissue septa called septula
testis radiate from mediastinum testsis to the capsule and
divide the interior of the organ into approx. 250 pyramidal
intercommunicating compartments called testicular
lobules.
5. Each testicular lobule contains one to four highly convoluted
seminiferous tubules, surrounded by and supported by
inter tubular connective tissue .
