Specific editing for grammar, usage, mechanics, and clarity
gives writing its precision and legitimacy.

The students will be able to demonstrate an understanding
for adding and subtracting negative numbers by playing a
game where they practice these skills.
To determine the extent to which students have attained the
concept of adding and subtracting negative numbers they
will do a crossword puzzle, and a quiz regarding the newly
learned concept.
Pencil, paper, dice, game board.
This activity is sure to help students comprehend the process
of adding and subtracting negative numbers. It gives them a
visually, and entertaining way to engage in an understanding
of numbers and the system of rational numbers.
The way that I will integrate technology into this lesson will
be to have the students create a Storybird. This Storybird will
be about a story where positive and negative numbers are
used.

I will adjust this lesson for higher ability learners by

increasing the amount of dice that they use in the game. I
can also adjust this game for students with disabilities by
allowing them to play the game through an online
application.

I will bring this lesson full circle by having the students

partake in a demonstration called The Stack or Row Model"
to further understanding before and after the lesson has
been implemented. In doing so, I can also measure the depth
of their understanding.
