Term 1 Week 8
Purpose:
Students prepare and present a role play in Italian where they order a gelato from an ice cream shop and then pay the bill. They
are also given a cartoon strip template to fill out. Students demonstrate their ability to relate appropriate information using a
range of language appropriate to the context, purpose, and audience accurately and fluently, use pronunciation, intonation and
stress effectively to enhance communication, use effective communication strategies to maintain the interaction (e.g. asking for
repetition, self-correcting) and go beyond minimal responses to engage the audience (waiter/waitress). Students develop
numeracy skills through exploring number, quantity and currency in the restaurant context.
