Dear Parents: Here are some dates for your calendar.Holiday Shop - December 14th & 15th. Last day of school December 22. Dare Graduation - Thursday, January 14th 2016. Parents and family are more than welcome to
attend the Dare Graduation!

MATH Students will review multiplication and division of fractions.


On Monday, students will receive a review sheet for the assessment on
Thursday.
READING We have been working to identify who is telling the story in
a variety of text. We are this week continuing to read and analyze the
text to see how a story events change when two different people are
telling the same story. ( 5.RL.3.2)- Literature circles will continue to
work on cooperation and small group procedures as they read on their
current reading levels. New Books were handed out this week. We will
also continue to identify figurative language and how to use context
clues when understanding difficult words.
Science - Students will continue studying the human muscular system.
Social Studies -(Standard 5.1.7 Identify and locate the 13 colonies)We
begin Chapter 6 / Lesson 3 on Monday. Middle Colonies- Busy Farms
and Seaports. We will wrap up the Middle Colonies on Monday, review
on Tuesday, and Test next Wednesday.
Writing -( 5.W.3.3a Narrative) 5.W.6.2b command of capitalization,
punctuation, and spelling. Students will continue with narrative
writing. (5.RV.3.1 Figurative Language) We will also try to use similes,
metaphors, hyperbole, and idioms in our writing to make them more
interesting and descriptive!
