Reflection
I started the engagement stage by giving the students activity in pairs which is
paper with a five questions . The students walked around and find the
answers on the wall. Then, we discuss those questions together. So,
this questions was to engage the students to the new lesson and get a
hint to understand the main idea. Next, I led the students to predict the
title from the activity they did it. In the next stage I started with the
new words vocabulary by showing them the word includes pictures.
Then, I led them to find the meaning from the dictionary. So, new

words are important to the students to compression the context.

(Thornbury, 2002) After that, I gave them the passage and started to
skim it . I used this skimming to them to get the main idea of the
reading and highlight the dates, names, and places. When they
finished I led the students to read the paragraph in loud voice. After
that,

discuss the main idea of each paragraph and ask them

quotations relate to it. Questions gives the students opportunity to be

more interested in reading because they give the students a purpose
for reading.(Tompkins, 2002) Before we finished the lesson I led the
students to create a nice poster that relate to the passage by writing
sentences and drawing. But, I showed them modeling poster to
understand to activity and the students will realize how and when to do
the same. ( J. Tierney & Readence, 2005)
