SERMON OUTLINE
Sermon Series: A Run for Eternity is a RUN for a day with the Lord (Hebrews 12:1-3)
Todays Theme: Run the road to eternity, United together, and NEVER GIVING UP!
Supporting Text: 2 Corinthians 4:1-18
Introduction: This is Pauls letter to the church at Corinth. He encourages the church to move on
though there were some who tried to destroy Paus credibility as servant of the Lord Jesus Christ
yet it did not stopped him to move in and continue on his mission that was set before him. Likewise,
we are to continue despite of the great challenges we face as we ran the race of faith that was set
before us.
Let us try to see the secret of Paul why he was able to endure with perseverance the mission God
has laid upon his shoulders.

We must not lose heart (never give up) as servants commissioned to accomplish the
Mission started by the Lord Jesus Christ. (1-7)
o It is always in the mind of Paul to do the task that the Lord has entrusted to Him and
he is determined to finish it no matter what the obstacles that may come. He is
determined to preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation of them
that are lost.
There is Gods Power within us. (7)
o Christians are lie jars of clay who at times, experience a sense of frailty and
vulnerability caused by anxiety, fear, grief and weaknesses. Yet, because of Gods
treasure within them, they are not devalued or defeated. In this life, Christianity is
not the absence or removal of weaknesses; but it is a display of Gods power through
human weakness. This means in every trouble or difficulty, we can be more than
conquerors by Gods power and love (Romans 8:37) and, that our weakness,
troubles and sufferings open an opportunity for Christs love, power and life to be
revealed in us.
o We can be struck down but we will rise up again and again. (8-9)
o Given to death yet we are destined to live. (10-15)
o We may waste away, yet we are renewed day by day (16)
o Our troubles and hardship are but temporary (17)

THEREFORE, DO NOT LOSE HEART (1, 16), RATHER CONTINUE TO MOVE FOR WE ARE RUNNING
TOWARDS ETERNITY (18)
I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is
laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to
me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.
