Where Students Live in Proximity to Hamline

The graphics below display data collected from a survey taken by 25 students at Hamline
University throughout the first two weeks of October 2015. The surveys purpose was to help
determine if a city wide escort by Hamline Safety and Security is feasible. The survey contained
9 questions that asked where Hamline Students live and how, when, and why they travel . Figure
1. shows where students live in proximity to Hamline University. This is important because the
safety and security escort service would provide rides for students who live within a 5 mile
radius of the Hamline campus.

Safety Around Campus
When coming up with reasons why a city wide escort for Hamline students would be feasable,
safety was the number one potential reason. An escort from Safety and Security would provide
safe means of transportation for students. Figure 2. shows the results of a yes or no question
asking if the students have ever felt unsafe around campus. This is important to show why a
student would need an escort.

Whether or Not a City Wide Escort would be Utilized

In order to prove the feasibility of a Safety and Security city wide escort, I must show if the
escort service would be utilized. Figure 3. shows the results of a yes or no question asking if a
city wide escort would be utilized by the surveyed students.
