Shapes in the environment

Students look through the 3D shape sort notebook file and sort the
shapes according to the best fit shape. They were given an A3 sheet that
had 3D shapes labeled on it. Students cut out the objects and placed
them under the shape that suited the object best.

Identifying 3D shapes

Students went through the Shapes notebook file and identified how many
edges, faces and corners each 3D shape has. They were provided with an
A3 sheet that had 3D shapes on it. They needed to show a face, an edge
and a corner on the sheet as well as label how many edges and faces
each shape had.

Wanted

Students made a wanted poster about a shape. Information that needed

to be put in the poster was discussed as a class and modelled as a group.
Students made their own wanted poster and were encouraged to be as
creative as possible.
Assessment
Students were assessed individually, whether they are able to name a
shape, show a side, corner and face. This data is then transferred onto a
table for assessment purposes.
