Description
(The subject or focus of the project)

My sculpture is inspired by the movie Harry Potter and The

Chamber of Secrets. My sculpture will be a phoenix made with wire
and plaster. It will be about 12 inches deep, 8 inches wide, and 13
inches tall. The position of the wings will create the implied
movement of flying. I will then paint the back and the head red, the
outer wings orange, and the stomach yellow to resemble fire. I will
use blue beeds for the eyes. I will use tissue paper to make flames
come out of its mouth. I will hot glue the phoenix down to a
wooden block. I will then place feathers all around the phoenix
giving it unified texture. I will also pair the element of form with the
principle of movement by having the wings spanned out to give the
idea of flying.
My sculpture is inspired by the human hand. My sculpture will be a
realistic shape of a hand. Ill blow up a latex glove, put plaster
around it. When it dries Ill pop the latex glove inside, leaving the
plaster shape of the hand. Ill then paint the entire hand black, the
finger nails red, and use white to make swirls on the palm of the
hand. Im pairing the element line with the principle of rhythm by
taking 5 separate 5 lines and joining them together to make one
swirl which shows progressive rhythm.. The sculpture will probably
be around 1 inch deep, 7 inches tall and 4 inches wide
My sculpture is inspired by the human eye. My sculpture will be a
realistic eyeball using paper mache. It will probably be 5 inches
deep, 5 inches tall and 8 inches wide. To make it, Ill blow up a
balloon and cover it in paper mache. When the paper mache dries,
Ill pop the balloon inside leaving the form of the paper mache. I
will then paint it using the colors white for the base, pink for the
veins, black for the pupil, and the color green as the iris. I will
create a branching pattern by using the lines I will create for the
veins. I will then blow up another larger balloon, cover it up in

plaster. I will make coils out of the plaster and place it on the
balloon. Once the plaster dries, I will pop the balloon inside leaving
it hollow. This object will be the brain. I will then paint the entire
brain pink. I will connect the brain to the eye using pink colored
wires. I will pair the principle of line with the element of pattern by
creating a branching pattern using pink line to represent veins.

All art project created for the second 9 weeks will be due NO LATER THAN December 11, 2015.
