Dear Recruiting Manager:
I am a student in the Construction Management program at North
Dakota State University. I was informed that you are looking for an intern for
the summer. I feel like I am skilled to perform all of the tasks that are
needed to complete this job. Enclosed is my resume listing my past
experiences and skills.
With my past experience working as a general laborer I have the
knowledge and skills that will allow me to help the construction crews with
labor and with supervision. Over the past three summers I have been taught
how to work in the electrical by helping my boss rewire and part of his house
in Eden Prairie. I learned how to plumb by building a bathroom from nothing
and running over 500 ft. of PVC down a cliff to get water to a boat house. I
also learned how to do general carpentry by remodeling an entire house and
building many miscellaneous projects.
Through the past three years of my college experience I have practiced
reading blue prints and specification manuals. In the past year I have learned
how to estimate the cost of a job site. I have also been taught the basics of
land surveying while operating the equipment and surveying the NDSU
campus.
