Classroom Use Policy

For the 2015-2016 school year our classroom will have the pleasure of using
technology at many times throughout the year. In First grade you may ask, when
and how is this possible. During free time, but also through guided instruction we
will use the SmartBoard, tablets and at times computers/laptops. Anytime is a great
time to learn about technology and the many uses it has, but there are a few rules
and guidelines to follow.
1. While an electronic device is in your possession, you will walk, not run to your
destination.
2. When I approach you, I would like full eye contact when speaking with you.
Pause what you are doing. (This goes for any other teacher as well.)
3. If there is too much commotion over a game or device, I have the right to
remove it if after several attempts to calm down are made and not achieved.
4. HAVE FUN! These devices are here for you to learn and play on.
5. There will be no devices out while taking tests, during quiet time or while I
am formally instructing.
6. Finally (For the parents) ALL forms of social media are blocked, as well as
Hulu, YouTube, Netflix and any other video/steaming television websites.
Upon signing this agreement you and your child understand the rules and standards
being set forth to keep all the children safe while using technology in the classroom.
I will sign each of these as well, by signing I agree to give you full disclosure on any
questions you have that may arise during this school year. I also vow to give you MY
OWN undivided attention and expect the same respect while discussing your child
Meaning I will not have my cell phone out, or be distracted by my computer or
tablet, etc.
