Notes: He signed ball to make a choice. Signed all done when he didnt want to stay outside anymore. Signed drink please. Alex did not want to play ball outside. He only
wanted to ride on his trike. He tried to unzip Brittneys and my coat and he was successful. He took off his own coat and unzipped it too.

Impression:
Alex did not really enjoy working on his goal to not go in the street. It was really cold outside and his siblings were very distracting.
We were able to collect some data as he remembered to stop his trike as he got closer to the street. He signed stop when both Brittney and I
modeled and verbally prompted him. But his limited attention span made it difficult for us to gather more data and to repeat the intervention
strategy.
We had Alex practice signing stop while he was jumping on the trampoline. This activity seemed very effective as he was having fun and the
sign to stop jumping was applicable to the situation. Also with this activity he had limited attention span and only wanted to jump for a couple
minutes before he climbed off the trampoline.
Objective Description of Data and Observations:
We took Alex outside and he got on his trike. Brittney drew a red line at the end of the driveway to show Alex where he needed to stop.
From the previous session we learned that Alex enjoys racing us and his siblings with running. So in the instance I decided that I would run next to
him as he rode his trike down the driveway.
Alex rode down that driveway and when he got to the end he put his feet down just in time for him to stop. When Brittney and I signed stop and
verbally said it, Alex did the same and responded with putting his hand up and had a big grin on his face.
After the initial ride down the driveway, Alex saw that his dad was putting up Christmas lights on the house. He was distracted and signed that he
was all done with the activity. Brittney and I verbally prompted him to come back down and ride his trike but he wouldnt come back.
That was the end of that activity as Alex was determined to go back inside.
We went in the backyard and Alex played on the swing set. When we asked him if he would like to jump on the trampoline he agreed. He got on
the trampoline and started to jump. When Brittney and I verbally said stop while signing it Alex was successful in stopping jumping. He stopped
jumping two out of the three times following that when we modeled and verbally prompted him.
Assessment and Evaluation:
From our assessment and interviews with mom we do see a great need to continue with the sign language. Alex is coming along with signing some
things but his mom wants him to learn new signs as well as be able to sign consecutive words in a row.
Alex is still getting used to us being there and he is getting more comfortable with just us when his mom has to be gone.
This was the first session when mom was not there so it made a difference in his ability to listen to us and respond to our prompts.
His lack of attention does make it difficult at times to plan enough activities for him to engage in. So we will need to come up with some more.
Plan:
In order to help Alex enjoy his intervention more and become more engaged, we are going to spend more time playing with his siblings because
that is what he has shown to be the most interested in. We are going to involve the siblings with play in their downstairs toy room. We are
especially going to involve his brother Caleb who is about the same age developmentally as Alex. We are going to implement using some of his
favorite toys in the intervention such as cars and balls. We have seen that those are his favorite and that he will play with them for an extended
amount of time.
We hope that as we involve more play into these interventions that we can see when Alex is needing to sign stop if Caleb is to take a toy away
from him. Our main goal with teaching Alex to sign stop is so that he will stand up for himself when his peers or siblings take advantage of him.
