Activity: (MILF 2.1): Mutual Respect, teamwork, and trust in
dealings with students, staff, and parents

Artifact: Presentation to Mineral County Health Department on child abuse
and neglect
I was asked by my school administrator to do a presentation on
reporting suspected abuse and neglect of children. This was attended by
community professionals as well as mental health professionals. The
purpose was to heighten awareness in the community about when and how
to report suspected abuse or neglect of children.
Description:

I spent five hours preparing the presentation, one hour giving the
presentation and two hours additionally discussing child welfare in our
community. I enjoyed working with members of our community on such an
important topic. There was a surprisingly large turn out for the event which
was encouraging to me to see professionals outside the school system so
involved in child welfare.
