Progressive Era Research Project
Research and prepare a PowerPoint about one of the following topics.

REQUIREMENTS FOR RESEARCH: Wikipedia is not allowed to be used as a source. You should have at
least 5 sources, 3 sources of your choice and 2 books. All of your information must be cited with a citation slide
at the end of your PowerPoint.
ROLES- Each group member will choose 1 role to fulfill as we go through this project.
Overseer: This person takes charge of the project, keeping everyone on task and helps their group
members to complete their work.
Researchers: Two researchers will do the majority of the research that will be put into the PowerPoint
presentation. During the first day EVERYONE conducts research.
Recorder: This person is in charge of creating the PowerPoint, they will add all of the information that
the researchers and overseer finds to create the final product of your groups research.
Research Guide- The following should be covered by the research.
1. What is the background of your topic? (Who is the person you are discussing about? What was going on
to cause the reform?)
2. What did your topic try to do? Why was it important? (What reforms did your person fight for? What
was the reform meaning to do?)
3. How successful was your person or reform? (Did the person or reform achieve its goal or did they/it fail
to change anything?)
4. Did your reform/reformer change life for us today? Why or why not? (If it did, how has it changed life
for the United States? If it did not why was it not successful in the long term?)
