Online Lesson Plan Components/Steps

1. Have the students pretend to board an airplane and travel back to
Ancient Egypt.(Will have graphics and audio to get the students
engaged)
2. Assign groups to the students, all students must participate in the
group project.
3. Using the internet, books and historical documentaries research
topics consisting of pharaohs, mummification, geography,
Egyptian life, gods/goddesses, pyramids, temples, time, and
writing.
4. Students will create a PowerPoint presentation giving four facts
about each topic. PowerPoint must make good use of fonts,
effects, and contain images to enhance the presentation.
5. Students will share their presentation with their peers for
constructive feedback. Students will write done what they
enjoyed back each presentation and what they have learned from
it.
6. On their own students will write a page of what they have learned
of Ancient Egypt with no grammar and spelling mistakes.

DID Components

Step 1: "Know the Learners"
The research phase (Step 3) Ensures that every student can research in a
way that suites them best. i.e visual and audial learners. Being a group
project students will be able to help each other.
Step 2: "Articulate Your Objective"
How was life in Ancient Egypt, Who were the pharaohs, How did they
keep records?
Step 3: "Establish the Learning Environment"
The learning environment takes place in the library, computer lab and in
the class room. That way students can practice different ways of research,
computer, books, and movies.
Step 4: "Identify Teaching and Learning Strategies"
Varied teaching methods are met, with teacher lecture, librarians on how
to use the library for research. Educational videos on the subject.
Step 5: "Identify and Select Support Technologies"
A variety of technology is used but mainly computers and videos. Which
are readily available to the whole class.
Step 6: "Evaluate and Revise the Design"
The group presentation and the solo essay will make it clear what the
student has learned on the topic. It will push the students to focus and get
ready for middle school. Which will have tougher assignments.

1. What learning theories seem to be reflected in the steps of the plan you found?
The learning theories found in this lesson plan are Cognitivist and Constructivist.
There is not a reward positive or negative until the assignment is completed and judged by peers and teacher.
2. How does this plan differ from the DID model in terms of both steps and theoretical framework?
This lesson plan follows the DID model. It is a lengthy assignment that pushes students to learn more about a certain topic and how to work well
in a group and solo environment and how to make good use of technology in the classroom.
3. Which format do you prefer? Why?
I prefer the DID model. It gives a basic blueprint of how a lesson plan should work in the classroom by knowing the learners and how to get them
engaged in an activity. Having consent feedback from the students and teacher is extremely important when it comes from learning. If something
is not working the student or teacher to bring it up so they can figure out how to change it so it does work.
