Football celebrates playoff run at banquet

Reagan Cabaniss, Senior

round of playoffs.
Throughout this season we were able to overcome many obstacles and

challenges and still come

together as one. Even
though the season did not
end as planned, it was a

very memorable experience. My favorite part of

my season this year was
beating Ada. We proved a
lot of people wrong, said
Mason Waldrop, sr.
Twelve senior leaders are leaving, so the underclassmen have a lot of
shoes to fill.
My advice for next
years team is to work
hard in offseason. Thats
where it all starts. They
must live every day to its
fullest and bust their rears
in the weight room. I also
want to remind them to
have fun and while getting better they must come
together as a family. They
must look out for one another and keep each other
accountable, and most
importantly, give glory to
God, said Saul Soto, sr.

Younger classmen are
currently working hard in
offseason.
We push each other in
the weight room everyday

and dedicate ourselves to

the grind so when season
comes around, weve developed descipline and
a bond with each other.
Thats what makes us a
strong team that will win
games., said Jacob Archer, so.

Traveling soccer teams finish fall season

Jacob To, Senior

Two club soccer teams:

Clinton Football Club
(CFC) and The Switchers recently finished their
fall season and are looking
forward to hitting the club
and high school field in the
spring.
The teams are coached
by brothers, who both
graduated from Clinton and
played soccer for the Reds.
Josh Martinez (2009) and
Lucas Martinez (2004).
Josh Martinez coaches the
mens team, CFC. Lucas
Martinez coaches the womens team, The Switchers.
The teams are composed
of freshmen through senior
level players and they are
building their skills during
the off season.
We had a really good
season. We placed high in a
lot of tournaments, and we
are ready to start back up
again in the spring, said
Francisco Pina, jr.
Although they are a recreational team, Pina said
that the team is being allowed to wear the school
jerseys.

Its like we are playing

year round since a lot of
us play on the high school
team, he said.
The girls team also had
a good season according to
freshman, Aneris Soto.

Its tons of fun. Hopefully it gets me ready for

the high school team, said
Soto.
Also playing on the
team are two out of town
girls from Cordell and

Weatherford.
The teams will start their
spring seasons in March
and hopefully find time to
play both recreational and
school soccer.

to play club soccer to keep

their bodies healthy.
I love club soccer. We
get to compete against other people of different ages,
so we get a lot of experience. And I get to play with
my friends which makes it
even better. Playing club
keeps me in shape for high
school soccer too. It keeps
me light on my feet, and
everything is fresh to me
when I step onto the high
school field in the spring,
Abel Gutierrez, sr.
Other athletes play club
soccer to bond with their
teammates and coaches.
I joined club soccer to

improve my personal skill

level. I also picked up the
new team to get to know
the younger girls. I think it
will help us get to know the
way each girl plays, before
the season starts. That way
we already have an idea of
what each others strengths
and weaknesses are. Im really looking forward to using all the skills from club
and practicing them in our
school team. We have a lot
of returning starters and
skilled freshmen. Were
hoping for a successful season and to advance far in
the playoffs, said Yazmyn
Zamaripa, sr.
