To whom it may concern,
My senior project will consist of me volunteering my time to help with the organization Smile on
Down Syndrome. I will be working with kids with down syndrome. When volunteering my time
with kids I will be going to the Smile on Down Syndrome building to do various activities with
them, such as painting and doing buddy walks with them. The buddy walks, I will be walking
alongside these kids encouraging them. I will also be helping pass out water and other supplies to
help people complete the walk.
This organization was founded in 2001. Hundreds of people have been involved with this
organization, and have had nothing but joy in being apart of Smile on Down Syndrome. Having
this organization being around for a short time; this organization should grow and spread further
throughout the cities within the next years.
My mentors name is Niki Davis. Nicole has been apart of this organization for several years.
Niki enjoys working with these kids and getting involved. She has several degrees in speech and
social. Niki will be participating in these walks with me. She will guide me and hopefully teach
me more about kids with down syndrome.
I hope to get out of working with Smile on Down Syndrome Organization is that I get to learn
from these kids. Get involved and give back. Kids with down syndrome are always happy and
bring me joy in many ways. I hope to get close with these kids and maybe volunteer there again.
I hope by interacting with these kids I can make a difference in their lives too.
