    Directions for Parents


    A RAFT assignment is a fun way to provide students with choice in their learning. Heres how it
    works:
    First, the student chooses if theyd like to do option #1, #2 or #3.
    Then, they follow the requirements for that option.
    The ROLE means who the student pretends to be.
    The AUDIENCE is who they are addressing.
    The FORMAT is what they must use to talk to the audience (this is something they should be
    able to turn in).
    The TOPIC is what they must write about.

    Use whatever paper you think best fits the option you chose, or put the RAFT on a poster board to
    make it fun to share with the class. Help your child be creative and have fun!!!
