Created using Abaqus 6.11
You can now visualize contours on beam element cross-sections in
Abaqus/CAE. This enhancement provides a realistic depiction of analysis
results for beam geometry.

To use this functionality, simply use the ODB Display options to render beam
profiles while contouring beam element field output.

Abaqus contours a constant value throughout the beam cross-section for nodal
and element integration point output variables, as shown in this plot of nodal
displacement.

For element integration point data, such as the axial strain results contoured
here, the entire beam section is colored based on the settings in the section
points dialog box

In addition, you can create a contour plots that that depict stress variations
throughout the beam section. To generate such plots you must request
SF (section force) and SM (section moment) field output for your beam
elements. Abaqus uses uses linear elastic theory to compute beam crosssection stress variations which you can plot by contouring BEAM_STRESS
output variable. Keep in mind that this field output.
