Description
(The subject or focus of the project)

My drawing is a still life drawing of three apples, a salt shaker, and

a glass bottle. The inspiration for this still life is from my desire to
bring together odd objects and recreate their forms to create some
form of unity. The light source in the corner creates a lot of
highlights and shadows. The background behind the objects will be
the horizontal lines varying in value. The organic forms in the piece
create height, contrast, and shape, but still maintains unity through
the value tones and curved edges. The final drawing will be 12in x
9in. This project is to help improve my ability to apply the elements
of form and value in my artwork.
My portrait is a landscape of nature and use both hard and soft
pastels. The inspiration is my love for fall, nature, and the
outdoors. I will recreate a realistic scene of the wilderness with a
background of mountains, a mid-ground of changing trees, and a
foreground consisting of a river and brush. The lines of the water
and brush create the illusion of visual and implied movement
throughout the artwork. The final product will be 9in X 12in. This
project is to help improve my ability to apply the elements of form
and value in my artwork.
My painting is a landscape of the sky. The sky will take up 2/3rds of
the background and will be a sunset. This painting is inspired by
various pictures of sunsets and silhouette imagery found on the
internet. The left side of the painting will have a tree without any
leaves. The right side of the painting will contain a couple standing
next to each other. The background will be a mix of sunset colors.
The final project will be 11in X 14in. This project is to help improve
my ability to apply the elements of form and value in my artwork.
