Description
(The subject or focus of the project)

My inspiration for this project comes from my interest in the

abstract art style. I like abstract art because the style is simplistic
using just shapes, lines, and color to catch your attention. I will be
making an abstract art work focusing on the shapes of rectangles,
triangles, and circles- all geometric shapes. The focal points in my
artwork are the circles which overlap to connect the rectangular
columns. The circles also create visual movement. My art work
will have no negative space because each shape will be filled with
color. My art work will have repeating patterns of triangles and
circles. My drawing will be 12x 9.
My inspiration for this project connects to the abstract style like my
first project, but this one will focus more on the elements line,
shape and space. I will be making a zentangle. I will be starting
the drawing using the same type of columns with triangles.
However, the zentangle drawing will focus on the visual balance
between the positive and negative space. My goal with this
drawing is to lead the viewers eyes around the picture directed by
the line movement I am creating. My drawing will be 12x 9.
My last project will be a series of color scales. I want to do make
this painting to show how the color blue transitions into white. I
am choosing blue because blue is my favorite color. The painting
will have ten color scales, all of which will be arranged so that one
is sitting on top of another. The first scale at the top will start with
white transitioning into blue. The next scale will be the reverse
starting with blue and changing back into white. These two scales
will keep repeating until ten scales are made. The changing value of
the color blue will create a pattern throughout the painting of an
progressive and alternating rhythm.
