NDPA JR. HIGH STUDENT WINS WRITING CONTEST


Congratulations to Maria Salome A. This weekend she won First Prize in the writing contest organized by the El Observador de Utah, The Utah Spanish Newspaper. Salomes
prize included $ 25.00 to Mc Donalds and 4 movie tickets for her and her family to enjoy.
We would also like to thank Mrs. Zost for her assistance in getting her paper submitted.

NDPA INTRAMURAL BASKETBALL FINAL GAME


2010 Intramural Basketball Team Schedule
Our Intramural Basketball Championship game has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Nov 2nd at 3:30, to avoid conflict with 5 th
grade program scheduled for Nov 4th. Teams 1 and 3 will play for the championship. GO LIONS!

INTERSCHOLASTIC CO-ED VOLLEYBALL


NDPA Co-Ed Volleyball team won its first round match in the Utah Charter & Small School League (UCSSL) Championship
competition, hosted by Summit Academy, Draper, UT. The team scored a 2-0 victory over the volleyball team from
Reagan Academy in Springville, UT. The Lions advanced to play Syracuse Arts Academy in one of Saturdays quarterfinal
bracket matches. Although our Lions played great, we were unable to hold them off. We are so proud of the effort they
gave. Way to go LEONES!

NDPA BASEBALL TRYOUTS FOR 2011 SEASON


NDPA baseball tryouts for the 2011 season was rescheduled for Thursday October 28th, at Ellison Field, from 3:30 to
5:00. Coaches Dooley, Wilbert, and Bean will conduct the tryouts. Watch next weeks Friday Notes for your LEONES
Baseball team to be posted.

COMPETITIVE BASKETBALL TEAM TRYOUTS


The first of two tryouts was conducted on Wednesday, Oct 27th. A second tryout will be held on November 8th, from 3:30 4:45 in the Jr.
High Gym. Watch your Friday notes for your Lions team to be posted.
NDPA will host a pre-season invitational basketball tournament on Tuesday & Wednesday, December 14th and 15th. NDPA will play
Oquirrh Mountain Charter School (OMCS) in Tuesdays first game, starting at 4:30. Legacy Preparatory Academy (Woods Cross) plays Syracuse Arts Academy (Syracuse) in Tuesdays second game, starting at 5:45. Losers of these two games will play the 4:30 game on Wednesday, and winners of Tuesdays games will play for the NDPA Invitational Basketball Tournament trophy at 5:45 on Wednesday.

THANKS FOR A GREAT HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL


Thank you to all who helped make the Halloween Carnival so great this year! We had an amazing turnout and fabulous decorations! There
were so many who made this great event happen, so hopefully we can recognize you all! Thanks to all the husbands who came to help and
for those who came to help at the last minute! We appreciate all the Jr. High Clubs that ran all of the games so parents could participate
with their children. Special thanks to the following parents: Lorrie Schmanski, Shaunna Reynolds, Kim Valeika, Cynthia Taylor, Yuree Hall,

sponsored by the POET organization as a service to NDPA families! It is not a fundraiser so we are thankful for your
support and glad that everyone had such a great time!

RED RIBBON WEEK WAS A SUCCESS


Thanks to all of you who participated in Red Ribbon Week. We had lots of fun with our daily themes; K-4 had a great
assembly; we had lots of great entries in our K-6 Art Contest.

won a prize worth $30.00.
We are still in the process of counting up and distributing our many donations of stuffed animals and books. NDPA students are certainly
generous. Thank you to everyone who gave. We know your donations will help many, many children.
Thanks to all our parent volunteers who put in so many hours to help make this week a success.
