Open House at Hope Haven: because of your generous

support, the new addition is complete!

You can help a little girls dream of becoming an

anesthesiologist come true...

On October 13th, we held our first Open House. Thanks to you, it was a huge success.
Your support of Hope Haven makes a direct and immediate impact on the
people and programs that we provide, thank you for making a true
difference in our community. See you at our next Open House in January 2016.

Alicia is a bright-eyed, beautiful and

intelligent 10-year-old girl full of
dreams with a promising future. When
she was three years old her uncle began
to abuse her, which resulted in her
contracting a sexually transmitted
infection. The perpetrator was never
charged. Her mother is a drug addict
who was never able to care for her and
her father was absent in her life. Her
grandmother took on the caregiver role.
Yet, as time went by, it became
clear that her grandmother was no
longer able to properly care for Alicia.

Connie and James talk about

the Outreach & Prevention
programs that we offer.

Our guests, Lynn, Deni, and

Holly came to take a tour and
meet the staff of Hope Haven.

Alicia came to Hope Haven to talk to our Forensic Interviewer about the abuse and neglect
she had to endure. The information she provided the interviewer enabled the authorities to
remove her from her grandmother's home and place her with a safe relative. Hope Haven's
Child Abuse Medical Provider gave her medical care to help her body heal. She is now
actively engaged in Hope Haven's trauma-focused equine-assisted therapy to help her
work through the trauma of her abuse and she is making great progress.

Our Executive Director,

Shauw Chin gave a short
presentation to our guests.

We welcome visitors!

These services are the first steps to ensure that children can move past the trauma
of abuse and on to realizing their dreams of being an anesthesiologist, an
astronaut, a teacher, or a chef...wherever their dreams might take them!
