ROFWAC JIF65 Rules

1.
The entire yacht should be built as closely as possible in compliance
with The Plan.
2.
Length of the hull measured at the longest point must not exceed
650mm including the bumper which must be made of foam, rubber,
silicone or some other flexible material.
3.
The width of the hull at the maximum point must be between
165mm and 175mm.
4.
The hull must be built of wood but epoxy or polyester resin may be
used in combination with glass cloth or bandage to reinforce the seams
and other points indicated on The Plan.
5.
Masts can be made from wood, aluminium / other alloys or carbon
fibre but must be between 6mm and 8mm in diameter.
6.
Mast height as measured from the top of the deck to the top of the
mast and its fittings, (crane) must not exceed 1050mm.
7.
The dimensions of the crane must be the same as those shown on
The Plan.
8.
Sails can be constructed from any type of material and can be
panelled or flat.
9.
The maximum sail sizes that can be deployed are those shown on
The Plan. A master will be available to permit sails to be measured.
These sails must comply with these measurements with an allowance of
+2.00mm in any direction. Smaller sails can be fitted at any time at the
Skippers discretion to permit successful sailing in stronger winds.
10. The maximum total boom length when installed on the yacht in
ready to sail condition and when measured in a straight line must not
exceed 520mm. (This will generally mean making booms exactly to the
sizes shown on The Plan.)
11. Keels can be made from wood, aluminium or some other alloy. If
wood is used then epoxy or polyester resins may be used to laminate
pieces of wood to generate strength.
Keels manufactured solely from carbon fibre or any other combination of
resin/cloth are prohibited.

12. The maximum distance measured from the bottom of the hull to the
bottom of the keel bulb must not exceed 245mm.
13. Rudders can be made from the same combination of materials as the
keel with the same exclusions.
14. All deck fittings can be made, installed and used at the Skippers
discretion.
