microteaching

Microteaching
A micro lesson is a 10 15 minutes
lesson
It present a simple snapshot of what or
how you teach
Therefore, please provide a relatively
quick, comfortable and effective means
of teaching

Microteaching
Do not try and cram an entire body of
knowledge into 15 minutes
You will present your lesson with your
group members as students

1) Select a topic to be taught

Focus on teaching skills and process rather
than sophisticated content

How do you want to make sure that students
will participate in your lesson

need for your lesson
Bring any prepared materials, charts,
posters, maps, equipment etc.

PRESENTATION

E.g. begin with an unexpected fact, a
quotation, a question for the class or a
short story either funny or tragic

Tell the class briefly what you are trying
to do
Give them a preview of your main
points-this will focus their attention and
help them to follow the presentation

If the audience is unfamiliar with the
topic, give them some background about
it
If the ideas are difficult or complicated,
use a handout or diagram
