Andrew Stoner was elected in the

Parliament of NSW in 1999

Andrew Stoner is a successful politician with


many years of experience. He was elected in the
Parliament of New South Wales as the Nationals
Member for Oxley in March 1999. He has also
been the Leader of the NSW Nationals for 9 years
i.e. from March 2003 to October 2014.

He was involved in various political party activities


such as Oxley Electorate Council Treasurer, Cowper
Electorate Council Vice Chairman, Coalition Economic
Development Backbench Committee, Deputy Chair,
Coalition Advisory Committee on Infrastructure and
Transport Services, etc. Prior to entering the
parliament, Andrew Stoner worked as a Manager at
an employment agency and a Regional Manager in the
Australian Public Service.

The former NSW Deputy Premier was born in


January 1960 in Brisbane, and brought up in Port
Macquarie, New South Wales. He received his
bachelor degree in Business from the Queensland
Institute of Technology, and then completed his
Master of Business Administration from James
Cook University.
In April 2014, he was appointed as the Minister for
Tourism and Major Events, Minister for Small
Business, and Minister for the North Coast
besides his existing responsibilities as a minister.
On October 15, he resigned from the position of
Leader of National Party because of some family
reasons.

redevelopment of the Sydney International
Convention Entertainment & Exhibition Precinct at
Darling harbor on time and budget. In addition, he
also supervised over $13 billion of infrastructure
investment in regional NSW, which helped to
enhance the productivity of regional industries
including mining and agriculture.
He is married with Cathy, and is father of six. He
loves his family very much, and always takes out
some time for them even in busy work schedules.
