Warm greetings!
UP DULAANG LABORATORYO features the works of Theatre Arts majors of the
Department of Speech Communication and Theatre Arts. The Theatre 198 class under Dr.
Alexander Cortez will be having their thesis titled Coro de los Diablos, a stage
adaptation by Layeta Bucoy of William Goldings Lord of the Flies.
The show explores this generations notions about would be leaders in an arena
dominated by a choir of demons.
Coro de los Diablos revolves around the declaration of World War 3 between a group of
Filipino high school students trapped on an uninhabited island after the plane carrying
them to the World Future Leaders Convention was gunned down. Away from the guidance
of adults and without a strict moral compass, the group tries to survive in the wilderness
amidst teenage problems, leadership woes, and a perceived choir of demons lurking
around the island.
In connection with this, we would like to invite your office to be one of our partners in
staging Coro de los Diablos. The production will be held at the Teatro Hermogenes
Ylagan, Faculty Center, UP Diliman Quezon City on July 24 (7PM), 25 and 26
(3PM and 7PM), free admission.
