!!PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Immersed in local culture, building long lasting and trusting relationships with various
community members, organizations, and government offices.
Designed, managed, monitored, reported on, and evaluated various small projects at the
grassroots level. Including multiple household garden and compost projects for 150 rural
women, and a two-month nutrition training for 27 mothers.
Co-directed and acted as Monitoring, Reporting, & Evaluation Officer for USAID funded
summer camp. The camp, which took place over 5 days, was attended by 47 Ethiopian
students, 13 Peace Corps Volunteers, and 7 Ethiopian counterparts.
Oversaw small projects for group of 29 HIV/AIDS positive farmers, facilitating business
planning and purchasing of livestock. Conducted monthly meetings with group, outlined
long term planning and implementation, and acted as grant officer for USAID small
grant. Completed closing reports submitted to USAID.
Facilitated three after-school clubs for 45 students. Met weekly with students, leading
lessons on leadership, life skills, gender roles, and environmental education.
Chaired Peace Corps Ethiopias (PCE) Volunteer Advisory Council (VAC), a council
designed to provide policy analysis and recommendations to all members of PCE.
Developed long-term plan for VAC, wrote by-laws, and directed 7 other Peace Corps
Volunteers (PCVs) in various projects, including all PCE skills inventory, and
transportation and security surveys. Directly influenced changes in leave policy for all
Ethiopia PCVs. Led quarterly staff meetings with VAC and PCE staff, providing insights
on policy changes and volunteer efficacy.

Participated in Project Teen Health, an after school program aimed at preventing childhood
obesity. Worked firsthand with over 25 students offering nutrition and exercise counseling.
Central Pacific Ski Club, San Luis Obispo, CA, 2008-2011. 10 hours per week.
Coordinated and planned numerous events for local non-profit, including orientation each year
for over 200 members. Developed social media presence, and composed weekly newsletters
received by over 1,500 members weekly.
