SECONDARY I:

NOTE THE SAGE BLUEPRINT APPLIES THE FOLLOWING WEIGHTS:

Algebra 30-35%, Number/Quantity/Functions/Statistics/Probability: 3338%; Geometry 30-35%;

Interim Block 1: Chapters 1-3 Foundations of Functions & Equations

Chapter 1

All lessons suggested (1.1 is review)

REI.10 is simple, but isnt direct in the textbook. (the graph represents
the set of all its solutions which will definitely surface when discussing
discrete/continuous)
Chapter 2

Suggested lessons (2.1 2.4, 2.6)

Less pressing (2.5, last half of 2.6)

Note: 2.5 would fit well with solving linear equations and is on the draft
to be included in Sec I (A.REI.3B (draft) Solve compound inequalities in one
variable, including absolute value inequalities.
Another note: The second half of 2.6 covers absolute value and
quadratic functions (Sec II), but useful for multiple representations and
features of functions.
Chapter 3

All lessons are suggested (3.1-3.4)

Note: 3.2 you may want to cover the units standard (N.Q.1) differently
than the book on this one. Its overcomplicated and messy! Also, N.Q.3
(Choose a level of accuracy appropriate to limitations on measurement when
reporting quantities.) needs to be included (suggested in 3.1 with sig figs)
Interim Block 2: Chapters 4-7 Sequences, Functions, & Systems
Chapter 4

All lessons are suggested (4.1-4.5)

Chapter 5

All lessons are suggested (5.1-5.6)

There is one honors standard included (represent average rate of

change as the slope of the secant line)
Chapter 6

All lessons are suggested (6.1-6.4)

Chapter 7

All lessons are suggested lessons: 7.1-7.4

At the end of this Unit, consider doing an honors unit on (Matrices)

Interim Block 3: Chapters 8-11 Data & Modeling

Chapter 8

All lessons are suggested (8.1-8.5)

Chapter 9

All lessons are suggested (9.1 - 9.5)

Note: Standard Deviation connects with 7th grade when students

calculated mean absolute deviations (MAD) and make inferences.
Chapter 10

All lessons are suggested (10.1-10.4).

Side Note: Standard S.ID.5 is in the draft to be moved to Sec II.

Chapter 11

All lessons are suggested (11.1-11.4)

Interim Block 4: Chapters 12-13 Coordinate Geometry & Congruence
Chapter 12

All lessons are suggested (12.1-12.5)

Chapter 13

All lessons are suggested (13.1-13.6)

Interim Block 5: Chapters 14-15, Properties of Geometric Figures
Chapter 14:

All lessons are suggested (14.1-14.4)

Chapter 15:

Suggested lessons: (15.1-15.3)

Less pressing: 15.4 (G.GPE.4 does not include circle theorems for Sec
I. Those are in Sec II) 15.3 is included because it connects the Pythagorean
theorem formula and distance formula (Sec I core).
Chapter 16:

Less pressing: All of Ch. 16 Induction and deduction, conditional

statements, truth tablestheyre great, just not part of the core. Include at
your leisure (and time schedule).

At the end of this unit, consider an honors unit with the vectors and
transformations stuff.
