Concept of Two Way ANOVA

a) Two ways ANOVA is a statistical method used to determine the effect of two
independent variables (or factors) on one dependent variable
b) The independent variables are categorical variables, divided into two or more
levels
c) The dependent variable is a continuous variable
2. Main Effect and Interaction Effect
a) Two ways ANOVA is used to determine two types of effect on the dependent
variable. The effects are the result of two factors, either on its own or in
combination with another:
1. Main effect
2. Interaction effect
Assumptions of Two Way ANOVA:
1. Samples are selected at random from the population, and independent of each
other
2. Scores for the dependent variable are normally distributed
3. Scores for the independent variable in each cell has the same variance

Five main assumptions that need to be met in order for your data to be suitable
for any type of ANOVA:
a) Data from the dependent variable is interval or ratio level
b) Data from the dependent variable is normally distributed
c) Random sampling of cases has taken place
d) Level of variance in the dependent variable is the same in all groups
e) There is just one dependent variable being considered
