    Alvan Fisher was an American artist born in 1792 in Massachusetts. He first worked as a clerk before becoming an apprentice to John Ritto to learn painting. Fisher then toured major art centers in Europe, studying landscape compositions and collections. After various projects, he opened his own studio where he painted many landscapes throughout his life, traveling widely to capture different scenes. His works featured people and animals and were sometimes imaginary landscapes. He exhibited at design and art schools until his death in 1863.

    Alvan Fisher

    Biography
    Alvan Fisher was born on August 9, 1792 in Needham, Massachusetts. In his early life he worked as a clerk
    then he went on to trying to become a artist so he started his apprenticeship with John Ritto. At first he started by
    painting, pictures and furniture he worked hard to shake off the technique that he was taught. After this he went on a
    tour of many art center in europe as he visited them he visited different artist collections. Through these tours he also
    studied composition and subject matter of landscapes. He also took on a few different projects. Then he opened his
    own studio. Through his life he painted many different landscapes. He traveled a lot to be able to explore and paint
    different types of landscapes. His work was exhibited in the different types of design and art schools. Many of
    different paintings of his included animals and people. His landscapes were sometimes imaginary scenes. He passed
    away on February 13, 1863.
