    About the Issue


    Diabetes is a problem with your body that causes blood sugar levels to rise higher than normal.
    This is also called hyperglycemia. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes.
    In 2012, 9.3% of the population was diagnosed with diabetes, over 29 million people. This
    number will continue to rise until we do something about it
    Diabetes remains the 7th leading cause of death in the United States in 2010, and will continue to
    rise.
