Social Communication Skills
Last semester we worked on Mature Behaviors
compared to Immature Behaviors. We role played
what manners are and when/how to use them. We
described sayings or idioms, to better understand
what people are saying. We covered issues of
hygiene and self-advocacy, making change and
many other math concepts. We practiced
employment skills at Holiday Park Community
Center. We also engage in work skills at the on
campus Eagles Closet, where we sort, hang and
sometimes wash donated items. Students this
semester will focus on knowing personal
information, their signature, using a register and
checks, and reading for meaning when cooking and
using the city bus, time telling and much more. Our
students are learning a new dance number for the
May graduation presentation here at Eldorado. We
will be saying farewell to Andrew, Roy, Duy and
Libby, our esteemed seniors. We wish them well
and best of luck in your future endeavors.
