requests submissions of art from young people aged 5 to 17 (if 18 must be in high school or equivalent). Submissions should be suitable for hanging on a wall. Photographs, paintings, drawings, and collages are all acceptable. Non-two-dimensional entries (sculptures, dioramas, etc.) must be cleared with the contest coordinator. The theme for the artwork is "Faces of Silverton." This may include not only portraits of people but also of animals, mountain faces, the faces of buildings, etc. All submissions will also compete for the 2016 Silverton Snowscape Art Contest People's Choice Award, which also has a cash prize. From February 3-7, the work will be displayed at the Blue Raven Gallery on Greene Street, where everyone can vote for their favorite piece. If they wish, contestants may price their pieces to be sold. The winners' artwork will be shown at Kendall Mountain Recreation Area for the months of February and March of 2016. Deadline for submissions is Tuesday, February 2, 2016 (midnight), and winners will be announced on Sunday, February 7, 2015, at 2 p.m. at the Blue Raven Art Gallery.
