SYNOPSIS
Amanda was born to be a performer. Her father had called her Papas Little
Popstar. She spent the beginning of her life putting on mini shows for her family,
sang in the shower until the water went cold, and practiced High School Musical
dance moves until the bottom of her feet was covered in blisters. So when she loses
the talent show during her freshman year of high school that would have granted
her a 5 year record deal with one of the highest ranking producers in the nation,
she vowed for ultimate revenge and promised to claim what was rightfully hers.
Now in her second semester of college, her lazy agent finally lands her an interview
with Triple Diamond Records, the same agency she would have been working for,
had she won the talent show 4 years prior. The chief signs her on one condition: she
must fake a relationship with Americas hottest heartthrob: the ever-so charismatic
and charming Nicholas McCarthy, who had ironically been the talent show winner
Amanda dreamed of inflicting her vengeance on. With the potential eruption of
fame and the chance to perform at Times Square on New Years Eve on the line,
Amanda uses this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to finally show the world who really
is the better performer. Little did they know what lies in their paths, and how much
theyll lie to themselves about the confusing feelings they start to feel.
Genre: Romance Comedy, with a splash of Drama

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW BEFORE AUDITIONING

Swearing: Do not fear! This series contains absolutely no swearing whatsoever.
I give constructive criticism: I believe that honesty is the best policy, and all
voice actors should be open to advice. I promise to not be brutally honest, but I
wont sugar coat my emails. If youd like me to not give you constructive criticism,
please let me know so I can send you a more generic message instead.
Everyone is welcome: All ages and accents are welcome to audition for any role
you wish. Please dont let these factors prevent you from auditioning! Everyone will
have a fair and equal chance of receiving a role.
I may ask you to audition for another character: This is always taken badly
with voice actors, but all it means is that the character(s) you auditioned for didnt
fit your voice as much as maybe another character would. If I absolutely adore your
voice, there is a big chance I may want to see if you would fit someone else.
Therefore, I will email you asking if you could read some more lines to only use as

comparison between your original and second recordings. This also doesnt mean
that Im not considering you for the other roles. In fact, it only means that Im
considering you more for the show and I want to really see your talent. Please let
me know ahead of time if you do not wish to be considered for another character,
and I will take note of your decision.

WHAT IM LOOKING FOR

Dedication: THIS IS A MUST! I am looking forward to producing every single
episode I have planned for Star-Crossed, and I need an EXTREMELY dedicated cast
to help me along the way. Since some characters appear later on, it is vital that I
stay in contact with you. I understand that sudden family issues and self-problems
will delay your lines, and that is absolutely acceptable as long as you give me a
heads up. Please dont take a role that someone with more dedication deserves.
Clear Microphone: This is a pretty basic requirement, but I am going to be very
strict on microphone quality. I will absolutely not accept any webcam auditions or
some sort of audition that shows your face. Not that I wouldnt find you an attractive
person, but because the quality of computer and cell phone microphones are so
poor, I would want to bang my head on a streetlight if anyone tried auditioning with
them. Your quality doesnt have to be perfect, but please try to minimize/edit out
the background noise, static, echoes, puffs and pops. I want to hear YOU.
Emotion: My biggest pet peeve is emotionless voice actors. Honestly, Id rather
have you overact then show no emotion whatsoever. No matter which character you
audition for, please give me actors, not monotone robots.
A Genuine Person: We are going to be together for quite some time, so it is only
natural for me to get to know you. I want to know that you are a person that the
cast and I can get along with. I wont require you to participate in Skype calls, but it
would be nice to know that you are a person who can take constructive criticism. I
will not tolerate rude and dishonest behavior. This shouldnt be much of a problem,
as I am sure all of you are very lovely.

YOUR AUDITION MUST INCLUDE

Username and Alias: In your audition, please state your username from the
website you had found this casting call and what you would like me to call you by.
This enables me to sort through your auditions easily. I will also need your
usernames for the cast list.
All lines recited for the character you are auditioning for: I dont mind if
you genderswap, just as long as you follow the guidelines. You can also audition for
as many characters as you would like, but I will consider you for other parts that I
think you would fit as well, so it would be smart to audition for many roles. If you
recite lines for the minors/extras, please use any voice youd like. Show me your
range.

If youre willing to be an extra: You wont believe how incredibly important

extras will be. There wont be that many of you, but each will play a wide variety of
characters. I need my extras to have the talent to switch voices as you will be
playing A LOT of characters.
(opt.) A voice demo reel: This is only required if you already have one. This will
make it easier for me to see how you can extend your voice range, which will allow
you to have a better chance at landing a role.
(opt.) Your rsum: Again, this is only if you already have one. It would be
preferred if you have experience in voice acting, but I am open to all voice actors.
This will just give me an idea of your voice range as well, especially if you dont
have a demo reel. This can be a web page or just your YouTube playlist. But
remember, I am looking for execution over experience.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR AUDITION:

Auditions dont have to be in video form; audio file is just fine.
Audition Through Skype Call: You may set up an appointment with me to
audition over a Skype call. Please contact me with your available times! I live in the
Pacific Time Zone so for some people this method may be a little inconvenient. You
may also send me your audition via Skype as a regular file I can download.
Upload it to YouTube: You can make the video public or unlisted. Dont forget to
send me the link via email or PM. If you contact me via PM, I will PM you back with
critique rather than comment on the video. This helps me keep track of who I still
have to respond to.
Upload it to Casting Call Club: Please make sure you split each character
rather than post one long audition file. This makes it easier to pick out voices based
by character.
