Large Brush Fire North West of Nelsonville Closing US 33

A large brush fire is burning at this time to the North West of Nelsonville between Dorr Run road and US Route
33. Firefighters from York Township VFD, Nelsonville FD, Ohio Department of Natural Resources and Wayne
National Forrest are currently involved in firefighting operations at this scene. The fire area is approximately 100
square acres at this time. ODOT will be closing US Route 33 until the fire is controlled.

North Bound Traffic – Closed at the intersection of US Route 33, (West Canal Street) and State Route 278,
(Madison Street). Traffic is being routed on State Route 278 to through Carbon Hill to State Route 595 and
then back onto US Route 33 in Hocking County.

South Bound Traffic – Closed at the State Route 595 exit. Traffic is being routed on State Route 595 to
State Route 278, State route 278 through Carbon Hill back to US Route 33 in Nelsonville.
