RE: FANA Declaration of Acknowledgement of Nehantick-Nahaganset Nation
To Whom It May Concern
On behalf of the Federation of Aboriginal Nations of America, it is our great pleasure and
privilege to extend this Declaration of Acknowledgement to the Nehantick-Nahaganset Nation, of the
territories contemporarily referred to as Rhode Island and parts of Connecticut.
‘The Nehantick-Nahaganset Nation is a unification of Tribes and Bands of the Nehantick
Nahaganset bloodlines who have re-formalized and re-established the traditional Nehantick-Nahaganset
Nation system of governance that has existed since the pre-colonial era, and from time immemorial.
FANA officially acknowledges that the Nehantick-Nahaganset Nation exists as an aboriginal
Nation, and enjoys all privileges, rights, protections and immunities afforded indian tribes, clans,
individuals and nations (indigenous / aboriginal peoples) existing on planet earth and throughout the
natural world, ie. Turtle Island.
FANA supports the forward progress of the collective Aboriginal Community, and pledges to
continue to work for the betterment of and proactively collaborate with any other Aboriginal Nations,
Tribes and/or organizations who share FANA’s perspective and values, and wish to support our efforts.
