    threemonthsearlierthanscheduledandIamluckytobealive.Duringthefirstweekitwas
    uncertainifIwouldliveornot.However,IdidsurviveandthisisoneofmanyreasonsIhave
    decidedtobecomeaLutheranpastor.MywholelifeIvestrivedtohelpothersandmystrong
    faithinmyLordhasgottenmethroughthemostdifficultofsituations.Helpingpeopleismy
    passionandservingGodismycalling.

    Nowmanypeoplemaybesurprisedthatan18yearoldwantstodevotehislifetoGod,
    butformeitcomesasnaturallyasbreathing.IgrewupinachurchandattendedSt.Paul
    LutheranSchoolandChurchinFlint,MI,allthewayuptoeighthgrade.AfterImovedtoTawas
    MI,mypassionforhelpingothersdidntdiminish.IvolunteerinmylocalchurchZionLutheran
    ChurchasmuchasIcan.IamtheBibleHistoryteacherforZionsafterschoolprogramKids
    Club.AlsoalmosteveryyearsinceIvearrivedinTawasIvegoneonamissiontriptoCamp
    MatzinWisconsinwithmychurch.Therewetakecareofapersonwithamentaldisability24
    hoursadayforfivedaysandhelpwitheverythingfromactivitiestopersonalcare.NowIknowit
    takesmorethanjustthepassionforhelpingpeopletobeagoodpastor.Topreparetobecome
    aleaderofacongregationIvevolunteeredtobeChoirManagerofmyschool'schoirandIlead
    alocalstudentrunsinginggroupcalledBelleVocetobuildmyleadershipskills.Ivealsobeen
    takingspeechclassestoprepareforthepublicspeakingIwillbedoingasapastor.

    AsformyfutureplansforgoingintothisfieldIamgoingtoConcordiaUniversityAnn
    ArborandmajoringinPreSeminaryStudies.TheprogramwillhelptopreparemeforSeminary
