STATE AND NATIONAL ADVOCACY AGENDA


TIER 1 PRIORITIES

Increase state funding by $1 million funding for:


Rapid Re-Housing

Transitional and Permanent Supportive Housing services

Address administrative and regulatory barriers that make it difficult for people
experiencing homelessness to access housing and support services, with a focus on
improving access to Housing Authority resources (particularly Section 8 Housing
Vouchers and Public Housing).

Advocate for changes to Medicaid that will ensure people experiencing homelessness
receive the behavioral health and medical care that they need.

TIER 2 PRIORITIES

Protect and increase funding for HUD housing programs, including Section 8 and Public
Housing.

Support the Keeping Families Together Initiative, which is an initiative to increase


permanent supportive housing for homeless families involved with the foster care
system who need supportive housing to be reunited with their children.

Support the anti-wage theft campaign.

Secure a dedicated funding source for the National Housing Trust Fund.

Increase federal funding for the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Program (which
includes the Continuum of Care and Emergency Shelter Grant programs).

TIER 3 PRIORITIES
Support reform of New Mexicos behavioral health care system.
