Aardman animations
Aardman animations is a world known and an award winning
company that had produced a handful of the most well known
animations such as Wallace and Gromit, Angry Kid, Shaun the
Sheep, chicken run, creature comfort and finally morph. Aardman,
has been nominated for 10 Oscars and has won 4.
Aardman animations was founded in 1972, by Peter Lord and
David Spoxton. Their first creation was morph, which was aired on
a children programme called take hart.
There main goal was to create animation for an adult audience. In
1982, channel 4 had commissioned them to create a piece so they
interjected puppets into real life conversations- this really broaden

Within 1986 the Aardman company had joined together with the
brothers of quay and Stephan Johnson, to create their first rock
music video, they created it for sledgehammer, and that year he
went on to win a large amount of rewards.
In 1989, they were commissioned again by channel four, it was to
create a series call lip sync, this used real people and their stories.
The wrong trouser, which was the worlds first 30 minute film, was
created by Aardman studios. This film went on to be one of the
most successful films of all time.
Aardman one a bafta in 1998 for their short film, stage fright which
last just 11 minutes. Within this year they produced a TV
programme thats audience was for both adults and children called
Rex the Runt and in was distributed on BBC 2. Another series they
created was angry kid, this was about a child which would get angry
and be annoying to others around him

In the year 2000, the aardman company had just

produced its first full length film, this film was called
Chicken run. It made over 220 million in box office sales.
Then in 2005 came the companies next big blockbuster
was The curse of the Were- Rabbit, it was a feature fil of
Wallace and Gromit. And it was realised by DreamWorks.
There next film was called flushed away, with was
released in 2007, it was released by DreamWorks, and
later on the year the movie was nominated for a BAFTA
From this point on the company produced large amount
of stop motion films and television programmes for
example Arther Christmas, Shaun the sheep, creature
comforts, and The Matter of Loaf and Death.

Won a BAFTA as well as many more award given at many different film
festivals - For the eagle stag
Studied at the university of Arts London, and then did a masters in
animation at the Royal college of art which was completed in 2010
He works on commercials with companies such as Nike, and he had
directed a music video for the band TV on the Radio, which is based in
Brooklyn, it was later nominated for a Grammy.
He was award a 3 moth internship with the Japanese centre, he created
a short film called Marilyn Myller, this shot film won many awards at
various different film festivals.

Within 2014, Mikey created an animated series that had

included Paul McCartney, which would then turn into a
feature length documentary
He was commissioned by Film 4 to write a script for his
feature length film, and that is being produced by wrap
films.
Mikey has had his work feature in many publication
getting the well deserved recognition needed.
