Phil Prins

Zanzibar, Dumaguete -5 AM December 26 2015.


That on or about the 26th of December 2015, in the City of Dumaguete, Philippines, and within the
jurisdiction of this Honorable Court, the above-named accused, Boyet armed with a beer bottle,
conspiring, confederating together and mutually helping each other, did then and there wilfully,
unlawfully and feloniously, with intent to kill, attack and fatally injure one Phil Prins, while the other
accused ganged up, kicked and punched the victim when the latter fell on the ground, inflicting upon
the victim fatal injuries which were the proximate cause of his death on December 29. 2015.

The recovered footage shows the attempted murder of US citizen, veteran and photojournalist Phil Prins in
front of Zanzibar during the early morning hours of Saturday Dec 26th, 2015. Prins' was attacked by a group
of unidentified Filipino men which some of are believed to be employees of the said establishment. Prins' got
struck to the head for at least 30 times leaving him lethally injured and unconscious.
After several days of fighting for his life at the ICU of Silliman University Medical Center Prins' succumbed his
injuries on his birthday, Dec 29th, 2015. According to the source all assailants were identified and the police
is currently in the process of apprehending the said. Additional sources claim to have been notified about
several members of the US army that were heading to Dumaguete City. This might lead to the assumption
that acts of retaliation might be immanent.
Unfortunately Prins' seem to have been suffering from PTSD but engaged himself in several humanitarian
projects such as working with local orphanages in the Philippines. He was one of the few photojournalists
traveling to the island of Leyte a few days after it got devastated by super typhoon Haiyan back in 2013
leaving at least 10,000 dead and more than 22,000 missing.
