    Alvarez on Mayors State of the City Address


    SAN DIEGO (January 14, 2016) Councilmember Alvarez has issued the following
    statement in response to the Mayors State of the City speech:
    The speech had a lot of nice promises. Last years was also full of promises and
    I dont think the Mayor followed through on even half of them. Less than half.
    So this year I wish the Mayor more success on following through, and Im happy
    to help in any way that I can.

    Alvarez is the Councilmember for the Eighth Council District of the City of San Diego, which includes the
    communities of Barrio Logan, Egger Highlands, Grant Hill, Logan Heights, Memorial, Nestor, Ocean View
    Hills, Otay Mesa, San Ysidro, Sherman Heights, Stockton and the Tijuana River Valley. He is currently the
    chair of the Committee on the Environment.
