I grew up in Malaysia and spent my whole life in Asia before attending university in USA. I
traveled extensively around Asia including Thailand, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and
others for squash tournaments and vacations, so I have experience with the cultures of
different countries in Asia. This summer I spent two months interning at an American startup
in Beijing and it changed my life. Before, I adhered to the expectation that I would continue
to work and live in USA but the internship opened my eyes to the opportunities in Asian
markets and the fact that I simply loved living in Asia. My father runs his own company so I
grew up around Asian business culture but working in USA made me familiar with Western
business culture as well. Working at a multinational company in Asia with a mixture of both
cultures would be my ideal career path.
