HBCA Board Meeting 8-31-15

Attendees: Janice Landis, Maria Hultz, Jacquie Russo, Ken Herzog, John

Guest Speaker: Scott Carlin spoke with the group to discuss the
recommendation he set forth in his Water Quality Action Plan for Shinnecock
Bay (See attached document)
Scott He maintains that Bob DeLuca wants Hampton Bays to
champion a movement to improve water quality as a pilot in Suffolk
County. He discussed the following partnerships:
o County and Town for septic regulation change and code
enforcement along the shoreline
o CPF funds for water quality improvement
o US Army Corp of Engineers who expressed interest in restoring the
wetlands
o A 5 plus standing Water Quality Action Committee supported by
students, teachers, and Chris Gobler
Maria added that Chris Gobler and Jay Shneiderman are willing to work with us.
Janice recommended that we look to Brookhavens path on assisting single
family resident to upgrade their septic system.
Other Topics of Discussion:
o CPI Wells Janice urges that we ask for well monitoring test results once
the baseline is established. Janice agreed to send a letter of request.
o Sea TV All agreed that we would hire Charles Certains son to set up
sound system at all our meetings for $25.00 per meeting. Backup may be
required. (See attached recommendations for sound system upgrade.)
o Ken will order a 10x10 tent for civic events.
o John will contact Bill Wright to determine the Republican and Trustees
running for office.
o Debate audience question handling
o Janice requested question from board members for debate
