monthly meeting at the Southampton Town Community Center, 25 Ponquogue Avenue,
across from the Post Office. Everyone is welcome.
The subject of this month's meeting is: Water initiatives: What's Next?
To address this issue the Hampton Bays Civic Association is presenting a panel of
professional water experts long familiar with the water issues of Hampton Bays:
Dr. Christopher Gobler, representing The Gobler Laboratory Group from the
school of Atmosphere and Marine Sciences at Stony Brook University, will
report on the health of the bays and discuss plans for 2016 and beyond.
Jennifer Garvey, Associate Director of the newly created New York State
Center for Water Quality Technology, a research center based at Stony Brook
University, will focus on the center's mission to develop affordable septic
treatment technology, an essential element of any water quality improvement
strategy.
Dan Gulizio, Exec Director, Peconic Bay Keeper (PBK), will be discussing the
nexus between land use patterns and water quality, which will include a brief
review of county data. He will also provide an update on PBK 's expanding
