Report Officer
The Associate Reporting Officer functions under the direct supervision of the External
Relations Officer. General guidance and support are received from the External Relations
Officer and senior management. However, the incumbent should be able to work under
minimum supervision, be creative and innovative. Guidance may also be given by the various
specialised units in the office. The position will require close contact with all sections within
UNHCR, implementing partners and other UN agencies to gather, analyse and disseminate
accurate information.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Keep abreast with all developments and activity to prepare appropriate briefings and
reports.
Assist the office in consolidating and analysing data on programme implementation and
indicators (protection, education, livelihoods, health) in order to facilitate the preparation
of periodic reports, i.e. Sitreps, operational update, activity-specific reports as may be
required.
Maintain working relationships with the Government, NGOs, civil society and UN
agencies to develop cooperation in inter-related activities.
Draft narrative, financial reports and project proposals for donors in compliance with
specific requirements.
Assist in monitoring and analysing donor policies on humanitarian assistance, potential for
accessing transition, private donors and support in drafting funding project proposals.
Plan and organize in an effective and efficient manner to deliver in a timely manner and as
per the requirements of UNHCR.
Keep abreast of key political factors, especially those related to the work of UNHCR.
Qualifications/Requirements:

Excellent drafting and communication skills, experience in dealing with the public is
desirable
Experience:
A minimum of 4 years of experience in journalism, advocacy etc. The ideal incumbent should
be proactive and have good analytical and peoples skill.
Language
Excellent knowledge of English (oral and written), Urdu and other local languages desirable.
