    Alittlechuckleslipsfromourmouthsfollowedbyadeepbreathasourcoachyells,

    Ourparents,friends,andfanscheeralongwithus,givingusthatextralittlebitofsupport.We
    staytogether,presentingasymmetrical,eyeappealingroundtogethighmarks.Herecomes
    jumpone.Ourteammatespoundthefloortogetuspumpedaswebenddowntogetherand
    swingourarmstightlyaroundtoperfectlyhitthatdiagonalhurdler.Thecrowdgoeswildaswe
    jumpandlandtogether.Smilesandfacialsgetturneduptoextremeaswefacethejudges
    strongly.Givingthewordsmeaning,westomptoournextformation.Anewsequenceof

    motionsareexecutedandweapproachthegrandfinale.Gettinguptothefrontofthematwe
    starethosejudgesrightintheeyeandputourheartsintoourmovements.Almostoutofbreath,
    wegetdowntothelastfivemotions.HighV,lowV,fightmotion,clap,point,
    BEARS!Wesmile,outofbreath,andthecrowdgetsontheirfeetandcrieswith
    happiness.
    Wornout,wesittogetherinthelockerroomguzzlingwaterandchattingaboutour
    performance.Ourcoachwalksin,outofbreathandsmiling,withaclipboardfullofournumbers
    andothervariousteamsscores.Shetellsushowitlooked,whatweneedtoimproveon,and
    beforeweknowititistimetoheadbackoutthere.Awardtime.The10minutesoffamewe
    spendhourstoget.Aswesitincircle,identicalwithteamshirtsandall,welookaround.Weall
    chatanddancetothemusicplayinginthegym.Wewavetoourfamilyandfriendsinthestands,
    butitallcomestoanendasthemusicstopsandthecrowdgoessilent.Nervous,wegrabeach
    othershandsandcloseoureyes,bowingdowntothemat.Scoresarelisted,5thplace,4thplace,
    3rdplace.Excitementbuildsas1stplaceisrightaroundthecorner.Secondplaceisannounced
    andsmilesbreakoutofourfaces.

    Wejumpuptogetherscreamingandcrying.Ourmomsanddadsjumpingupanddownwithus
    yelling,justasinvolvedasweare.Ourcoachessmilingandlaughingatoursmilingfaces.Wego
    andcollectourtrophy.Giganticandshiny,itbecomesthefocalpointofonlyathousand
    pictures.Allthatworkpaysoff,andthejoyyougetfrombeingacheerleadernevergoesaway.
