ACT Registration Instructions

Step 1: Read through this entire packet and fill out all the boxes in preparation for ACT registration.
Step 2: Go to ACTstudent.org click on SING UP / LOG IN button in the middle of the page:

Step 3: On the next page, click on Create Account:

*FYI: If it has an asterisk (*), it is a required question. Everything else is voluntary,


though it is recommended that you fill out the voluntary information since it
(A) helps you think about your preferences, (b) helps colleges identify potential students
who would fit well on their campus, and (c) helps colleges inform students of particular
programs and opportunities geared for them.

Step 4: On the next page, enter your answers to these two questions. (Most students answer no.)

Step 5: Enter information about your name, date of birth, Social Security Number, and email address.
NOTE: It is very important that you type your name and date of birth as it appears on your Social
Security card (or, if you dont have an SS card, then as it appears on your Birth Certificate). Also, make
sure your email address is correct, as the ACT will use this to contact you with important details.

College Prep should show up on the next page; click Continue after you see DCPs info listed.

Inventory, and Test Selection. This will take a while, but it will go faster if

Step 1: Fill out Your Test Selection

If you have a disability, you can qualify for accommodations, click on the links to find out more information if

Test Date and Option: Pick the April 12 test date and the writing option

Step 2: Confirm your high school and your current grade


Step 3: Fill out your high school courses and grades
Step 4: Add the 4 universities that you want to send your scores to (please add at least 1 CSU and 1 UC)
You can do this through the add a choice link and look up the schools by name

Step 5: Pick a major or undeclared if you are unsure


Step 6: Pick a test center.

You can look up through your home zip code to test at the closest location to your

home. DCP will not proctor the ACT test

Step 7: Review your final information.

Double check all of your info especially Social Security, name and

address

Step 8: Submit payment.

Use credit card if you do not qualify for a waiver. If you qualify for a waiver you will

receive a form that will provide you with the Voucher/Waiver number that you add to the payment page. Please
feel out the information on the waiver and return the waiver to your advisor after you submit the payment

If you do not receive a waiver and cannot pay with credit card you will be able to register through a
paper registration and pay with check. See Ms. Chairez at the College lab for more information.
If you do not finish your registration you must finish at the College Lab
Please print out two Registration tickets. You will need to show 1 registration ticket the morning of the
test and you will have to give the other ticket to Ms. Chairez

Step 9: Take a photo using the ACT photo app and a smart phone or iPad.
Step 10: Print 2 copies of the confirmation page: one for the test day, and one for your advisor.
