SUMMARYOFRESULTS:
Alexandar, Diamond, Mario and Samuel, surpassed the 10% increase expectation and are doing a wonderful job
applying their sounds while reading words. As the final assessment I had them take a first grade benchmark on how many
correct letter sounds and whole words read theycandoinaminute.Thebenchmarkalsohasthreedifferent shortstoriesandI
was able to tested them on that section as well to make sure that they are able to read words naturally. To reach thisgoalwe
did a variety of things for example, we worked on several worksheets independently, partners, or with the class. My migrant
students would read to their partner to work on fluency and also test each other on the letter sounds. Wealsousedflashcards
for high frequency words, spelling words, or sounds. During English Language Arts the teacher would give them a certain
sound or inflectional ending of the day and they learned it by doing different activities. In order forthestudentstoremember
the sound that letter or letters make there were visuals involved during the lesson. On the worksheet they had to write four
different words that were made up of the sound of the day. Oncetheywrotetheworddowntheyhadtodrawapicturetohelp
